Just because someone moves into a care home it doesn't mean that they should stop doing the things they like to do. We believe that our residents should have the opportunity to continue to do the things that they have always loved as well as having the opportunity to try new things along the way.
At Haven Court we offer a varied, weekly programme of activities and entertainment for our residents, including:
- Singing for the Brain
- Trips to Beamish and other local attractions
- Local singers and bands
- Movie afternoons in the cinema room
- Fortnightly church services
- Visits from Ashley Nursery School
- Visits from local dance academies
- Seated exercise classes
- Weekly craft sessions
- Pets as therapy visits
- Monthly Saturday socials
- Summer and Christmas Fayres
It’s important for our residents to get out of Haven Court and into the local community as much as possible. We have excellent links in the local community and our residents enjoy regular visits to the Littlehaven Hotel for tea and cakes. Some residents enjoy a fish and chip lunch at a local pub while others enjoy watching the boats and birds on the lake, with an ice cream, at the Marine Park.
We want our residents to continue to be happy and be content with life and that’s why we are always looking for, and developing new activities that our residents can take part in.
